A River Runs Through It

My brother, Ryan, working the fields with me in Africa. (2008)

I can’t explain the relationship between 2 brothers.  I have 3 older brothers.  Each of them unique in their own way.  My brother Justin – a solid person…an unwavering friend, consistently successful and generous, a genuine father and husband, true to his upbringing but brilliant in his own right.  My brother Brandon – the athlete, hidden genius, lives on the edge and never looks back, a real G.Q.  My brother Ryan…I don’t know how to put words to this guy.  I’m very close to him – spite any life circumstance, distance or mood.  We’re only 1 1/2 years apart, so naturally we’ve experienced a lot of life together.  Yesterday (July 17th) was Ryan’s birthday.  I called to wish him a happy birthday, and although I didn’t mention it to him on the phone I had just got done watching the movie “A River Runs Through It.”  The Movie hit me hard – for some obvious reasons, other reasons just hang above me like smoke and I can’t quite figure it out.  I recommend the movie to anyone – it’s a brilliant but intense movie.  My favorite line in the move was this, “I loved my brother completely, without completely understanding him.”

Moving to the Final Revision

I got a proof in the mail a few days back for my book – I’m making some minor adjustments so that the font (interior) is larger, and also so that the books is completed formatted. Publishing your book on your own is tough – and expensive! The book can be ordered now, but you may want to hold off a week until the formatting is finalized. I’ll let you all know. Thanks for the support!

Wedding in VA

Today Katie and I head to VA for our friend’s wedding – Angelo and Clara.  Angelo was part of Uganda 2009 – both he and Clara have been great friends and we’ve enjoyed visiting Chinese Bible Church of Maryland with them this past Fall.  I’m looking for an opportunity to reconnect with some other friends from CBCM.  Angelo and Clara are pictured (above)…they are really incredible people I wish that any who are reading my blog would have the opportunity some day to meet them.
